How a visit flows

The quieter half of the program

Your weekly OsteoStrong session is short, low-impact and guided by a coach from start to finish. What you do around it matters too. Members arrive, warm up, complete their session, and then take a little time to recover — and for many, that last part becomes the favourite time of their week.

First

Activate

A few minutes on the Vibration Plate wakes up the stabilising muscles and gets circulation moving before you load.

Then

Strengthen

Your coach-guided Spectrum session — about 15 minutes, once a week, no changing and no sweating.

Finally

Restore

Recline in a HydroMassage lounge or on a PEMF mat, pull on compression boots, relax beside the BioCharger, or stand in front of our red light panels before heading back to your day.

Not a member?

Book therapy sessions on their own

You don’t need a membership to use the recovery lounge. HydroMassage, PEMF, BioCharger, compression boots and red light are open to anyone, as a single session or a package of 5 or 10 — to unwind after pickleball, tennis, a round of golf or a long week, or simply to try one before deciding on a membership. Call or text us to book.

Vibration Plate Whole-body vibration

Wake the body up before you ask it to work.

Every OsteoStrong session starts and finishes here. The Vibration Plate uses gentle whole-body vibration — vertical pulses around thirty times a second — which prompts the small stabilising muscles through your legs, hips and core to switch on — the same reflexes that keep you steady on your feet.

Before your session it warms you up and gets circulation moving. Afterwards, a few minutes of balance work on the plate lets you practise stability while your body is primed.

  • Included with every membership
  • Before & after each session
  • Standing, fully clothed
  • Switches on stabilising muscles and gets circulation moving before you load5
  • Studied for muscle strength, performance and balance — including in older women34
  • Researched as a non-drug approach to supporting bone health12
  • Investigated for easing chronic lower-back discomfort6

Please speak with your physician before using vibration therapy if any of these apply:

  • Recent surgery, or recently placed pins or plates
  • Joint implants, including a hip or knee replacement
  • Serious cardiovascular disease, a pacemaker or an implanted defibrillator
  • Thrombosis or pulmonary embolism
  • Pregnancy
  • Known retinal conditions or severe diabetes
  • Epilepsy or severe migraine
  • Tumours or an acute hernia

Red Light Therapy Red & near-infrared panels

Light your cells know what to do with.

Red Light Therapy at our Tysons studio uses standing panels that deliver red and near-infrared wavelengths through medical-grade LEDs. Those wavelengths are absorbed by the mitochondria — the energy centres inside your cells — which is why the approach is known in research as photobiomodulation.

NASA began studying red light in the 1990s after seeing it help plants grow in space. Three decades on, it is the most researched modality we offer.

  • Gold & above
  • Red & near-infrared
  • Standing panels
  • Researched for bone health and bone repair — so far largely in laboratory and animal studies192021
  • Studied for pain and inflammation, including after hip replacement and in knee osteoarthritis222324
  • In one trial, postmenopausal women saw better quadriceps performance when light was added to treadmill training25
  • Studied for skin health and natural collagen26

Please speak with your physician before red light sessions if you take photosensitising medication, or have a history of skin cancer or systemic lupus erythematosus.

PEMF Therapy Pulsed electromagnetic field mats

Gentle pulses. Deep rest.

For PEMF Therapy, you lie back on the PureWave full-body mat, fully clothed, while it delivers low-frequency pulsed electromagnetic fields — pulses too gentle for most people to feel, though plenty of members drift off. Three programmes are tuned to different goals: RELAX to wind down, BASIS for everyday recovery and VITAL for an energising session.

PEMF has a longer research history than most wellness technologies. NASA explored it for tissue and cell growth,14 and it continues to be studied in bone health. The PureWave mat itself is a wellness device — not a medical bone-growth stimulator, and not a treatment for osteoporosis.

  • Gold & above
  • Lie back, fully clothed
  • Three programmes
  • An active, drug-free area of osteoporosis research912
  • Studied in women prone to osteoporosis, and alongside exercise in men with osteopenia or osteoporosis1011
  • Investigated for its effects on inflammation at a cellular level13
  • The RELAX programme is designed for a calm, restful session

PEMF is well tolerated by most people, but please speak with your physician first if any of these apply:

  • An implanted electronic device — pacemaker, defibrillator, cochlear implant, or an insulin or other implanted pump. This is the most important one.
  • Pregnancy
  • Active bleeding, a bleeding disorder, or blood-thinning medication
  • An organ transplant and immunosuppressant medication
  • Active cancer
  • Epilepsy or a seizure disorder

Drink a glass of water before and after. If you feel a little tender afterwards, choose a gentler programme next time.

Strength is built under load. It’s kept by how well you recover.

BioCharger Touch-free energy wellness

Light, frequency and sound — a quiet place to recharge.

The BioCharger is a touch-free wellness platform. You simply sit nearby while it produces light, frequencies, harmonics and pulsed electromagnetic fields through its glass plasma tubes. There is nothing to wear and nothing to do but rest.

It belongs to an emerging area often called energy medicine — interesting, still early, and best approached with curiosity.1516 Members most often tell us they leave feeling calmer, clearer and more energised.

  • Gold & above
  • Touch-free
  • Seated
  • A calm, touch-free session with nothing to change into
  • A restorative pause many members use to recharge mid-week
  • Used by professional athletes in their recovery routines, according to the manufacturer
  • Easy to pair with HydroMassage or compression boots
  • Pacemaker or insulin pump: please sit at least 6 feet from the BioCharger.
  • Photosensitivity — including photosensitive epilepsy or light-triggered migraines: the plasma tubes strobe, so we can remove them or give you an eye mask.
  • Pregnancy: please don’t use the BioCharger.
  • Metal-based chemotherapy ports or other metal plating: please don’t use the BioCharger.

Air Compression Massage Hyperice NormaTec compression boots

Legs that feel light again.

Our Air Compression Massage uses Hyperice NormaTec boots, which begin by gently inflating to the exact shape of your legs. Then they work upward from the feet in rhythmic waves of compression — a little like the kneading of a massage — releasing each zone as they move on, so pressure never lingers in one place.

We use Hyperice NormaTec — the same name found in professional training rooms and recovery centres, and the most recognised in this field, where it is known as pneumatic compression therapy. Here, it’s a reclined, unhurried end to your visit.

  • Gold & above
  • Recline & relax
  • Hyperice NormaTec
  • Improves blood circulation19
  • Supports lymphatic system circulation
  • Shown in research to enhance lower-body flexibility17
  • Studied for its effects on muscle at a cellular level18
  • Helps tired, heavy legs feel refreshed after exertion
  • A comfortable, reclined way to wind down

Please don’t use compression boots if any of these apply:

  • A current or unstable fracture, including a stress fracture
  • Recent surgery, stitches or open wounds
  • Suspected or known deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism or pulmonary oedema
  • Severe congestive heart failure, severe atherosclerosis or other vascular disease
  • A skin condition, infection or cellulitis in the legs
  • Known malignancy in the legs, or lymphangiosarcoma
  • Significant limb deformity

HydroMassage Heated water massage

A deep water massage — and you stay completely dry.

Our HydroMassage 440 G3 Lounge sends waves of heated water beneath a soft, cushioned surface while you recline fully clothed. From the touchscreen you choose where to focus, how firm and how fast — shoulders after a long week, lower back after the drive in.

People have turned to water for comfort and recovery for as long as there have been baths.7 Paired with your weekly session, it makes for ten of the most pleasant minutes in the studio.

  • Gold & above
  • 10-minute session
  • Fully clothed
  • Temporary relief of minor aches, muscle soreness, stiffness and tension
  • Temporarily increases circulation where massaged — massage after exertion has been shown to support vascular function8
  • Promotes relaxation, which can enhance your sense of well-being
  • Personalised to you: target areas, pressure and speed

Sessions are limited to 15 minutes a day. Please check with your physician first if you have:

  • Heart or circulatory problems, or uncontrolled blood pressure
  • Thrombosis, varicose veins or phlebitis
  • A tendency to bleed or bruise easily, or broken capillaries
  • Acute inflammation, swollen joints or a high temperature
  • Acute or unstable injuries or fractures
  • Disc problems, such as a herniated or bulging disc
  • An unstable cardiac or neurological condition
  • Skin infections, rashes or a contagious illness
  • A high-risk pregnancy
  • Pain that radiates to the arms or legs when the back is massaged

Questions

Recovery therapy FAQs

No. Anyone can book a single session or a package of 5 or 10. Members get recovery included: the Vibration Plate with every membership, plus one recovery therapy a week on Gold, three a week on Platinum, and unlimited daily access on Diamond.
No. Red Light Therapy uses red and near-infrared LEDs, not the ultraviolet light used in tanning beds. At our studio you stand in front of the panels in a private room.
HydroMassage, PEMF, BioCharger, compression boots and the Vibration Plate are all used fully clothed, so there is no changing. Red light works on bare skin, which is why those sessions take place in a private room.
PEMF is well tolerated by most people. The main exception is anyone with an implanted electronic device such as a pacemaker, defibrillator or insulin pump. Each therapy on this page lists its own precautions under “Good to know” — please check with your physician if any apply to you.
It depends on the therapy. HydroMassage, for example, is 10 minutes a session. We will set up your session when you book.
Yes. HydroMassage, Air Compression Massage and Red Light Therapy are popular ways to recover after a match or a round, and you do not need a membership to book them.
